DeepSeek-R1 vs. ChatGPT-o3 (for content)
February 2, 2025
Within a week, we got access to DeepSeek-R1 & ChatGPT-o3-mini-high.
Both can search the web. Both are the best at reasoning.
I wanted to compare them to generate Linkedin posts.
But DeepSeek's chat is unstable: too much hype? too many attacks against it?
I can't tell.
So I'll be testing o3 vs. Perplexity (using DeepSeek-R1) to generate Linkedin post topics.
The test
I will ask these two models to search, assess & generate the best topics (in February 2025) for a Linkedin post.
- Models: o3-mini-high vs. Perplexity DeepSeek-R1
- Features: reasoning + web search
- Industries: 1) robotics 2) HR 3) SDR of a company
- Once the topic is selected & generated, I will upload it on EasyGen
The prompt will be the following:
"Search the web, and find the most recent & relevant topics to write a post about [industry]. Once you made the list of potential topics, select the one that will most likely go viral. Then, write a concise topic summary of it, with a controversial take twist on it."
The generations
For "robotics".

The conclusion
Yes, DeepSeek made a splash.
And I even said on Linkedin I would cancel my ChatGPT & Perplexity subscriptions.
I still canceled my Perplexity subscription.
But ChatGPT? Aren't no way.
The new model coupled with "Search" is in a league of its own.
ChatGPT is EasyGen's best buddy for topic generation.
