AI got so good at everything: writing posts, designing images, mimicking you.
So all you need to build a personal brand is to automate all of these AI + your [blog / linkedin / x / whatever] to become known & famous & loved & financially free. Right?
... Right?
Well, no.
Because shortcuts are a losing game.
You won't automate your way to success.
This idea is tempting, right?
1 - You know your presence on Linkedin is important.
2 - You know AI, when prompted right, can write good posts.
3 - You know AI, when prompted right, can design good images.
So why isn't it possible to just combine everything and be widely successful?
Because AI made mediocre a whole lot better.
Mediocre is just too good. And it will keep improving.
AI made "bad" looks insanely good. But it's still "bad". It's still average. It's still mediocre.
The "good" just became insanely good, too. And the successful ones understand they must keep up.
Let's take another example where technology changed the mediocre forever.
Making a website.
This is what Apple's website looked like before:

Apple wasn't terrible at that time. It was a "good" 1997 website. But our taste became insanely more refined.
And that's not it.
Star Wars IV, the first Street Fighter games, the first cars, the first pictures...
Humanity keeps pushing the mediocre boundaries.
☑ A bicycle isn't fast enough anymore; we want cars.
☑ A picture isn't good enough anymore; we want videos.
☑ A videogame isn't realistic enough anymore; we want [insert new technology].
But why AI make (most of) you mediocre?
The shortcut paradox.
You know you want to look thin, but you don't want to exercise; you want the magic pill.
You know you want to grow a community on Linkedin, but you don't want to make posts; you want the magic AI.
You want the result. You hate the process.
So you search for a shortcut. But the shortcut is… doing the work.
You want to look fit without moving.
You want a community without posting.
You want the outcome, not the reps. But the reps are the outcome.
Every shortcut that works just looks like a fast version of the same long road. Still needs walking.
The real question now becomes: how to use AI to effectively do the work (and not automate it)?
AI the right way, not the fast way
Let me tell you the story of the ignorant, the bad & the perfect guy posting on Linkedin.
The ignorant
He does not know he can use AI to help him out.
→ Every day, he spends 15 minutes searching for a good topic to post.
→ He spends another 15 minutes shaping his post, rewriting the hook & designing an image.
→ He spends at least an hour a day connecting with his community through comments.
AI or not, this guy will end up being successful. He is geniune. He values the work, the reps, the community-building.
The bad
He is filled with envy & can't wait to beat the ignorant by using AI.
→ He wants the shortcut. Quick. Fast. Now.
→ He asks ChatGPT for a "viral post", poorly written, without a mission.
→ He tries to make images with AI, but realizes it does not work. He switch to another hack.
→ He creates a monster automation to 1) search viral trends, 2) write ChatGPT posts, 3) steal images.
→ The automation even schedules everything for him!! Posting, commenting, even sending connection requests.
He ends up with no views, no actual connection, and quickly stops his effort.
You can even hear him saying: "The algorithm is stupid!! AI is stupid!! People lie on Linkedin anyway!!"
The good
He knows about AI. But he also knows growing a community is growing a plant. It takes attention & care.
→ Every day, he spends 15 minutes searching for a good topic using AI.
→ He spends another 15 minutes shaping his post with AI, rewriting the hook with AI & designing an image with AI.
→ He spends at least an hour a day connecting with his community through comments himself.
Now read the ignorant & the good. They are (almost) the same.
Same input: of energy, of dedication, of will to create a genuine connection with others.
The ignorant will make it, slowly.
The bad will never make it, and blame others for it.
The good will be the most successful, riding on super-human efficiency.
Because he's not mastering AI to be lazier. He's mastering AI to be greater.
Be greater.
