How to Optimize Your LinkedIn Posts for Mobile-First Engagement: A Step-by-Step Guide
February 14, 2025
57% of people scrolling Linkedin are doing it on a phone.
But 80% of engagement on LinkedIn comes from mobile devices.
I'll repeat it: 8 person out of 10 giving a like, a comment, or a repost are scrolling their phone.
You must think, write & optimize your Linkedin content for a mobile-first reading experience.
I will teach you how.
Get my Chrome extension.
I built a free Chrome extension called "EasyGen". Not to be confused with the web app (app.easygen.io).
The web app writes world-class posts with AI in seconds.
The Chrome extension connects your EasyGen calendar (and library of posts) to your Linkedin.

Disclaimer
☑ EasyGen (Chrome) is not connected to your Linkedin API. You are safe.
☑ EasyGen (Chrome) will never be connected to your Linkedin. Ever. I wouldn't risk it for myself.
☑ It's free. And it will remain free. EasyGen (web app) is the paid tool.
So far, my Chrome extension...
→ has 30,000+ users.
→ rated 4,7 stars (out of 5).
→ featured by Google Chrome.
How I write mobile-first content (step-by-step)
Step 1
☑ I go to Perplexity - Reddit - ChatGPT search - Google - X → to find topics.
☑ I search for topics that could be solution to the one problem I want to solve → better content, faster, with AI.
☑ Once I tested the potential solution, and it actually works, I'm writing a quick draft of a post → my own custom topic.
Here is an example.
I was scrolling on X and saw this great video: https://x.com/elliotarledge/status/1886445386136707112.
It gave me this idea:
Check this video of how ChatGPT works (visually).
It feels like magic (visually, the technical part). But using it properly isn't (eventhough most people don't know how to do it). Actually, by simply learning a few prompting techniques, you'll be better than 99% of the population.
Learn the difference between zero shot and few shot prompting.
Learn how to provide enough context in your first prompt.
Learn chain-of-thought prompting, or the art of giving multiple steps.
Learn follow-up prompts correctly (by correcting precisely ChatGPT on what's wrong and what's good).
I want to teach all of this in my post.
Step 2
☑ I go to EasyGen (the web app) and paste the topic I just wrote.
☑ I generated 12 drafts until 2 versions caught my eye.
☑ One had the best introduction. One had the best body of a post (not the intro).

Step 3
☑ I patchwork the first & the second generation into one final post.
☑ I went directly to Linkedin, and clicked on "Start a post" to activate EasyGen Extension.
☑ I paste the final post (non-edited yet) to see the mobile preview on the right. I can now edit it for mobile.
The hook (introduction)

You must never leave words by themselves. You want fully-written lines, with the mobile-preview limit.
This rule is called in design to "never leave an orphan". Here's the ChatGPT definition:

The body of the post

The end of your post (called CTA or Call-to-action)
My CTA is at the end of all of my posts. It's the action you want people to take.
Do you want them to send you a private message?
Do you want them to share something related to your post?
Do you want them to subscribe to your newsletter?
