How to Use EasyGen for LinkedIn: A Step-by-Step Guide
October 20, 2024
As soon as ChatGPT was out (the 30th of November, 2022), I wanted it.
My own Linkedin AI assistant.
I was the ghostwriter of Nicolas Cheron, the biggest financial analyst in France.
I needed to train an AI to write like me.
I built EasyGen to be as easy as possible to use.
That's even why I called it EasyGen: easy-ly gen-erated.
And yet, you keep asking me: "Ruben, what's the best way to use it?"
Even if I wrote an entire article on Why You Overstratetegize Everything, this one is fair.
This is my definite guide on how to start, master & grow on Linkedin using EasyGen.
But we won't start with a "how". We'll start with "why".
Why EasyGen?
Because it's the best AI to write Linkedin post to go viral.
Am I biased because I'm the founder? Maybe.
But I don't know any other tool openly sharing their results while using it.
I built EasyGen to help me write better & faster content on Linkedin.
It worked so well that I made it public on May, 19th.
Since then:
Having a lot of customers is a thing. Having 98% of 5/5 reviews is another.
It didn't start that way. I started with 0 users, and a will to prove it would work.
So I took over Anisha's & Axelle's Linkedin accounts.
I wrote an entire article on how I made Anisha go from 0 to 2+ million views.
Here's how they're doing today:
OK let's now dive into the how of this article.
How to create your account.
Two ways to create your account.
- Go to app.easygen.io.
- Sign up with your (best) email.
- You will receive a code in your email.
- This is your (temporary) password to connect.
This is the best way to create an account → you'll access the web app, much stronger than the chrome extension.
It's available on every browser, and is also mobile-friendly. It supports every single feature of EasyGen.
Here's the other way to create an account:
- Go to the Chrome store right here.
- Sign up with your (best) email.
- You will receive a code in your email.
- This is your (temporary) password to connect.
PS: You do need a Google Chrome browser. It does not support all of the features.
Once you sign in, you'll see a finetuning form to help EasyGen write better posts for you.
How to finetune your account.
Here's a step-by-step process, with screenshots:
If you don't know what to answer here, go for "Educational Content".
If the answer isn't in the list, click on "Other" and Add+ to add your own answer.
This is a finetuning process: there is no right or wrong. It's your answer that matters.
If you don't know what to answer, go for "Building a personal brand".
If you don't know what to answer, select all of them.
If you don't know what to answer, pick the closest from the truth.
You can change every single answer as many times as you want.
Same here: the closest to the truth. And you can change it anytime.
To do that, simply go to the settings (once you finished the fine-tuning):
Let's move on to the next question. This is the last thing you'd like to say to EasyGen:
But first, remember that:
→ You can't ask EasyGen to write in a specific language.
→ You can't prompt EasyGen like ChatGPT. This is not ChatGPT.
→ You can't ask EasyGen to say or not say certain words.
An example of a final words fine-tuning is: "I am a CXO focused on content marketing for a B2B SaaS."
If you have nothing to add, just write "OK."
A CTA (Call-to-action) is the last bit of your post, at the end. Here's mine, most of the time:
♻️ Repost this if [a good reason to get behind reposting].
Now you're ready to write a post with EasyGen... like a rookie.
How to write a post - like a rookie.
The easiest way to write a post is quite simple.
- Go to "Generate Post" on the left.
- Click on "Topic suggestion" and "Select a topic".
- Pick your favorite one, or generate new topic ideas.
Here I selected: "Building a Personal Brand in the AI Industry".
Here's the result:
Here's how to take it from there:
- Click on "Preview" to see it on mobile.
- Try to keep the hook as close as possible to the original.
- Edit any text or paragraph that does not feel right.
This is AI content → this is not perfect, but as close as possible.
You are still the sculptor, the final reviewer.
If you extract yourself from this process, you'll never reach your potential.
AI is a tool. Not the final result.
If you understand this crucial step, you are ready to use EasyGen like a pro.
How to write a post - like a pro.
Let's get to the next level.
Instead of "Topic Suggestions", always go for "Your Topic".
I've always used this feature over anything else.
Treat this as a clunky, scrappy & brain dump first draft.
Here are three different examples.
First, a simple quote & why it matters:
Now, let's go a step deeper & ask Perplexity a question to fuel our topic.
I love to use this prompt: "What's the latest trends for [topic] that is not related to AI/sustainability? Give me a detailed breakdown, and why it is one of the latest trends."
Then you pick one of them:
The last way to use it: brainstorm with yourself, and just braindump what's on your mind.
Here's what's on my mind today:
The future of startups isn't VCs. The future of startups is solo founders, handling 100% of their distribution channels. They have a Linkedin, they grew a community on X. They solved one simple problem, and built the solution quickly using their knowledge, taste, with the help of AI. They operate at a 95% margin. They don't care about exits: they want to build solutions, and world-class one-feature with the simplest UI possible.
Let's see what EasyGen has to say about it & it will rewrite it:
Owning & writing your topic, with the help of AI, is how to be a Pro.
But there are two final methods to be an absolute EasyGen master.
How to write a post - like a master.
EasyGen can extract topics from images, both the meaning and the text.
And that's freaking fire.
The other new method - it's been like a week - is to use your voice.
I made a video where I wrote a week of content for Linkedin... with just my voice!
Now that you have a week of content, you must plan it ahead on a calendar.
How to plan your content – with the calendar.
I added a feature to add your post to a calendar. But remember...
EasyGen is not connected to your Linkedin.
EasyGen will never be connected to your Linkedin.
So it will not schedule your post for you. By the way, you should never do that.
Instead, plan ahead & copy-paste your post the day you're posting it.
If you struggle to start, I wrote a 7-day Linkedin plan last week to help you get started.
Now that's about it. You are a master at EasyGen...
... but you probably still have loads of questions.
Let's answer the most common ones.
Common questions about EasyGen.
- How to use EasyGen in another language.
→ EasyGen is built for English, and English only.
→ Use Deepl whenever possible. Or ChatGPT. *
→ Ultimately, you are the native speaker, not me.
- When I generate something with EasyGen, is it unique?
→ Yes.
- Where is the data coming from? Which AI is EasyGen using?
→ I can't reveal the secret sauce :)
→ I update the models every single week.
→ It's an agentic workflow: multiple LLMs talking to each other to assist you.
- Can I use EasyGen for other platforms too?
→ EasyGen is built for Linkedin virality.
→ But you can do whatever you want to do.
- How can I train EasyGen in my writing style?
→ What if you write very poorly? It's impossible for me to know.
→ That's why EasyGen isn't trying to mimic you or others.
→ It's a very competent ghostwriter, writing you a close-to-perfect draft.
→ It's up to you to edit it to your liking, writing style included.
- I posted with EasyGen, but it did not perform. Why?
→ EasyGen is one piece of the puzzle.
→ You have many more. I cover some here like how to pick the right media & the right topics.
→ Question the master, not the tool.
→ If you expect a linear growth forever without any effort, nothing will help you. EasyGen included.
→ I shared a lot about not expecting results when starting here.
- What is the difference between EasyGen free vs Pro?
→ The free version of EasyGen gives you 3x free credits.
→ The paid version fo EasyGen gives you unlimited fair personal usage.
→ Use it as much as you want! As simple as that.
- What about AI detectors? Can I get banned on LinkedIn using Easygen?
→ AI detectors are lies. It does not exist.
→ Even OpenAI fired their "AI detectors" team.
→ Yes, I know some websites exist about it. But to me, they are just scams.
→ Even if it was a thing, Linkedin openly uses AI pretty much everywhere they can.
- Why should I go for EasyGen with fewer features over Taplio with more features?
→ Because EasyGen does not build the feature you want, but the one you need.
→ Because EasyGen works.
